One of our major clients, Transfennica, is a major operator with its origins in shipping of forest products, but has developed more into an all-round carrier with a wide variety of cargo. After their delivery from the shipyard, both the Stena Forerunner and the Stena Forecaster entered service with Transfennica in 2003 on their Hanko – Paldiski – Lübeck route.

The complex cargo mix in the Transfennica network comprise, for example, StoRo (paper rolls directly loaded on the RoRo cargo deck), containers on cassettes, paper rolls on cassettes and LoLo (Lift On/Lift Off) containers on the weather deck.

In order to speed up loading and discharging Stena RoRo has, together with Transfennica, modified the weather deck of the Stena Forerunner and the stowage plan for longitudinal container stowage instead of stowing athwartships.
