 In August 2007, Stena RoRo ordered two new Stena Seabridger Mk II design RoPax vessels from Samsung Heavy Industries. With this order, Stena RoRo has taken yet another step forward in developing the next generation of RoPax vessels. Economy of scale, rational cargo handling and fuel-efficient vessels with a low environmental impact are key concepts for the future, incorporated in this design and based on the experience of the RoPaxes Stena Trader and Stena Traveller built by Fosen Mekaniske Verksteder, Norway. The addition of a fourth cargo deck will increase capacity by about 1,000 lane metres to a total of 4,050 lane metres.
