Our commitment and product development have resulted in Stena RoRo being the first shipping company ever to be granted the class notation "CLEAN" for its RoRo vessels following certification by Det Norske Veritas. The fact that our vessels are managed and environmentally certified in accordance with ISO 14001 is a natural part of our business activities.

The first "CLEAN" certified vessel, Stena Foreteller, left the yard in China at the beginning of 2003 and is now employed worldwide. Her two sisters, the Stena Forecaster and the Stena Forerunner, are deployed in the Baltic, sailing between Hangö and Lübeck. The Baltic is an environmentally sensitive region and has been listed as a Particular Sensitive Sea Area (PSSA).

We encourage our personnel and customers to play an active role in environmental matters.

Our tradition of constantly being at the forefront of the industry includes environmental issues as an integral component whenever new activities and technical solutions are introduced. 
Legal requirements must be complied with or surpassed.

We feel that it is our responsibility to educate and supervise our personnel so that they adopt our policy and improve their knowledge of environmental issues.

In order to live in harmony with the environment, and not waste the resources we consume, our goal is to minimize the environmental impact we may cause.
