The Far East

As early as in the late 1970s Stena RoRo ordered 11 RoRo vessels at Hyundai Heavy Industries, located in Ulsan, South Korea, pioneering the production of RoRo vessels in South East Asia. Stena RoRo returned to the same shipyard some 20 years later when ordering two very large RoPax vessels, the Stena Adventurer and the Stena Britannica, now trading for Stena Line in the Irish Sea and the North Sea, respectively.

In 1999, Stena RoRo placed three newbuilding orders with New Dalian Shipyard in northern China, thus entering the Chinese market. The three RoRo vessels were delivered in 2002 and 2003. During our long presence in Asia, we have built up strong competence in doing business in China and the Far East. Stena RoRo has since 2014 an office in Shanghai, supervised by Mr John Kollander.
